I'm trying to connect IMU383ZA sensor via RS-232 to PC.

We used DB9 connector board that has MAX3232 chip on it to receive UART signals from the IMU sensor. Then this DB9 connector is either directly connected to RS-232 port of Embedded PC or USB port of Industrial PC.

Our PC (Win 11 OS and Ubuntu 22.02) is able to detect the connected COM port, but we are not able to get a successful connection using Nav-View software.

We tried configuring baud rate setup but no success....

Does anyone know solution to this technical issue? Please help...

Looking at this, I see a few things:

The "b" at the start denotes it as bytes, not string. I tried running it through UTF-8, UTF-16, ASCII and a few others but I get absolute nonsense.

UUS1 appears to be a line start of some form. The closest match I can find to this is "User-User Signalling" protocol but I have found nothing of use on how to then decode the following bytes.

\x would appear to be a byte marker.

This means the text can be formatted as so by using "UUS1" as the line start and removing the "\x":

When removed, the text between the \x markers looks to be hex, but converting to ASCII also gives nonsense. I also note some are illegally long...
I find it interesting that the end of the message is closed out with a typical "\n" linebreak... does that mean each line refers to a single character... or what???

I have no clue as to how to proceed with this and the VSCode plugin looks to be broken so can't even give that a go, nor do the Linux instructions match with Raspbian.

I've changed the default protocol which was UBLOX_BINARY to NMEA_TEXT. The GPS receiver I'm using is the A5100-A which works at a baudrate of 9600. I then changed the GPS baudrate to 9600 bauds/s. Those changes have been made in the code and I've checked in the platform if it was effective. I just don't see any position and when I connect the GPS receiver to a microcontroller I do see NMEA sentences. I could even decode one and see my current position with an error margin. I just don't know why the communication between the receiver and the IMU doesn't work.

Is there anyone who can help me ? or is there a specific receiver that can work with the IMU ? I just feel like I've used all my cards.

Thanks in advance to anyone who will have a clue on the problem.

I'm currently working on a project using the openIMU330BI evaluation board. I've seen in the datasheet for the surface-mounted version that the openIMU330BI has a built-in Kalman filter but looking at the VG example code the Kalman filter seems to be on the evaluation board. Is there really a hard-coded Kalman filter on the IMU itself?

Further I'm trying to understand how the whole kalman filter calculation works: Should I be using the VG or the IMU code sample as I don't have a GPS for the kalman filter?

Thank you for your answers in advance!
