The Qiwa transfer process is a key feature of Saudi Arabia’s modernized labor ecosystem, designed to simplify employer sponsorship (kafala) transfers for expatriate workers. Managed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), Qiwa is the official digital platform that enables employees and employers to handle labor-related services efficiently and transparently.

To initiate a transfer on Qiwa, the employee must first ensure their current employment contract is active and compliant with Saudi labor regulations. The new employer then submits a transfer request through their Qiwa account, which the employee must accept within a specified timeframe. Both parties must meet eligibility criteria—such as valid Iqamas, up-to-date fees, and no unresolved labor disputes—for the transfer to proceed.
